Being in the business world offers opportunities to go places and experience things that you may not do on a normal basis. At my place of work, I have been granted to opportunity to attend one conference per year for various organizations to help in my professional development. Last year, I and coworker went to Boston for a few days, but really didn’t have the ability to get out and see much of the city. This time, though, things will be different.
As you can tell from the title, I’ll be flying out this afternoon to Sin City itself, Las Vegas. It will be my first trip to this oasis in the Nevada desert, so I’m looking forward to whatever the next few days will hold. Diana is going to come along this time and we will be staying an extra night, so the two of us will not be returning until Saturday. Its not often that the two of us get several days and nights alone without kids, so we are pretty excited.
We’ll be staying at the Flamingo resort on the company’s dime, because that’s where the conference is being held. Since I’ve never been to the city before, I looked it up on Google Earth and found that it is directly on the Vegas strip, across the street from Caesar’s Palace and near all of the casinos and attractions.
Have any of you been to Vegas before? If so, what things do you suggest we see and do?
