Some dinosaurs just refuse to become extinct….and that’s a good thing. Dinosaur Jr. was one of the most important bands of the grunge era in the early 90’s, but they somehow missed the boat that their peers - Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc. - road to success and stardom. Recently J Mascis reformed the band and their newest album, Beyond, is a great blast from the past. You may remember them for the minor hits they scored back in the day - “Start Choppin’” and “Feel the Pain” (as well as probably others that I can’t remember) - and the new recordings fall right in line with what they were doing 15 years ago.
