McCain and the Possessed Hand July 16, 2008

In the past week, John McCain was asked an uncomfortable question regarding the health insurance coverage of Viagra and birth control. While I could go off on another political soliloquy about gender inequities and all of that, there was another aspect of the video that concerned me even more. Watch what happens around the 30 second mark:
You notice his hand reaching up to his face, grasping his face and pulling at his skin, almost seemingly against his will. This could only mean one thing – not just an uncomfortable feeling for Senator McCain at having to discuss issues such as these, rather, I’m afraid it may be something much more sinister. John McCain’s hand has been possessed by an evil spirit. Senator McCain, please heed my warning now or else something like this may happen:
Maybe he and Mitt Romney would make a good team after all…
If he’ll cut that hand off and attach a chainsaw to it, I might vote for him.
Careful Jeff, he might really do it. That old man’s crazy.
Somewhere, I can still faintly hear Hillary Clinton squealing, “ooh ooh ooh, I’ll do it. Let me be president and I’ll do anything…ANYTHING!”
I’m not so sure John is going to “make it to the finish line.” There is an awful lot required to run for president in this 24/7, Internet-laden world. He’s quite likely to say or do something really, really tragic…or not be able to meet the physical requirements of what will surely be a high-intensity, back-biting, name-calling, slanderous campaign.
