According to a study by researchers from Australian National University:
A husband who is nine or more years older than his wife or one who married before the age of 25 is twice as likely to get divorced.
20% of couples who have kids before marriage get separated compared to 9% of those without children beforehand.
Women who want children much more than their partners are more likely to divorce.
16% of men and women whose parents ever separated or divorced have also experienced marital separation compared to 10% of those whose parents did not separate.
Partners who are on their second or third marriage are 90% more likely to separate than those on their first.
16% of respondents who labeled themselves as poor or where the husband was unemployed had separated, compared with 9% of couples with healthy finances.
Couples where only one partner smokes are more likely to be separated than those who do not.
Just some food for thought…
Should I be concerned that you’re so interested in the separation/divorce stats??
Nah, I just thought it was interesting.
Oh, ok. I figure we only have two hits on that list anyway . . .
